The City by Jeremiah Kauffman

Part of the reason for putting my work online is to show off. I won’t deny that. I do however, crave an audience andart would be nothing without intelligent people to share it with. It really doesn’t matter who you are; if you’re here now reading this and what you’ve seen has affected you in any way, then I’m satisfied.           I want my work to live and this is not possible unless it takes a step into the world outside my room.    by Jeremiah Kauffman      http://jeremiahkauffman.deviantart.com     http://jeremiahkauffman.wix.com/jeremiahkauffman-art     http://jeremiahkauffman.blogspot.com

The City by Jeremiah Kauffman

Part of the reason for putting  my work online is to show off. I won’t deny that. I do, however, crave an audience and art would be nothing without intelligent people to share it with. It really doesn’t matter who you are; if you’re here now reading this and what you’ve seen has affected you in any way, then I’m satisfied.                                                                                              –       I want my work to live and this is not possible unless it takes a step outside my room. I think a lot of people- myself included- feel awkward at the thought of actually giving feedback to an artist. Highly professional portfolios( unlike this one) tend to give the impression that the artist is so successful that he doesn’t need to hear what the casual visitor thinks or that the page is only there for the sake of finding work. The only time I’ve really seen people being verbal about art work is in amateur forums where the majority of comments are given by friends or acquaintances asked to visit the page or fellow artists who are trying to put in a kind word. What I rarely see is anyone ever daring to say anything usefully critical.                                                      –       Well, you can ignore all of this here. It doesn’t matter to me who you are; if you are someone who knows me or someone who just stumbled upon this place through a search engine, I would appreciate a comment or an e-mail. I value and appreciate all constructive feedback-good or bad. If anything I’ve created is able to produce in someone’s mind very negative criticism, I want to hear it. My goal is to improve- not to slumber in a false dream kept alive by superficial condolences. I can tell the difference between honest dislike and maleficent rudeness. So lay into me; tell me what you – the other half of my work- are thinking or if my work has ever provoked a thought at all.                                                                                                                    –        Finally, if you’re an artist yourself- definitely drop me a note; a comment placed in the box above with your own website would be most convenient and appreciated. I know there are lots of boards and communities for the online artist but I’m not into that sort of thing. I don’t have the time to keep up and I enjoy more personal meetings. As much as it may seem that my page revolves around the work of someone who cares about himself, the truth is that I never stop reviewing every piece of artwork I see everyday. So do not hesitate, say hello and show me what you do.    by Jeremiah Kauffman    http://jeremiahkauffman.deviantart.com       http://jeremiahkauffman.wix.com/jeremiahkauffman-art
